An Evening with Champions
Cambrige, MA
Executive board member - hospitality chair
February '12 to December '15
An Evening with Champions is an extraordinary organization, remaining Harvard's longest-continuously-running and highest-donating student organization to date. As an organization that puts on a high-profile annual professional figure skating exhibition to benefit Dana Farber Cancer Institute's Jimmy Fund, I strongly recommend that companies and individuals consider getting involved.
During my four years with EWC I served three times as the Hospitality Co-Chair and once as the Executive Board Coordinator. Over that time, I:
-
Solicited thousands of dollars worth of donations from local businesses
-
Planned multiple events for high-profile donors and professional figure skaters with a virtually nonexistent budget
-
Cultivated lasting relationships with fantastic individuals in the figure skating and cancer research communities
I worked for several years in association with Harvard's Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response as a Peer Educator, directly responsible for creating programs and events to raise awareness of issues relating to sexual assault, sexual violence, and sexual health on Harvard's campus.
Every year I gave educational workshops to incoming freshmen, and I served for over a year as the organization's Marketing & Branding Chair, where I:
-
Revitalized a social media presence and significantly increased brand recognition across campus
-
Created content for online and print marketing and recruiting campaigns
-
Served on an executive board that navigated through a time of significant administrative upheaval in response to sexual assault at Harvard
